Unplugged Play

I feel we are continually trying to balance TV and ipad time with what I prefer for the kids and that is a focus on unplugged play. Thankfully they are always up for outdoor play, but getting them interested in games, crafts and simple toys inside can be a challenge, especially as they get older.

This weekend we played lots of card games, blocks and play dough.

We tried using stamps with play dough for the first time and that was a hit with Miss Independent.

Mr. Independent surprised me with his interest in building all sorts of structures.

Posing with their block creations.

I recommend the book Unplugged Play by Bobbi Conner for lots of fun play ideas!
